Laughing With

July 8, 2009

The first time I heard this I played it three times. I love the melodrama and the piano harmonies. The lyrics, though clear and understandable, seem intentionally vague. Just like looking at an outline of a cube, where depending on how you think about the front side, you are able to change the cube. “No one laughs at god in a hospital” could mean either he’s not a funny topic or that he has a poor sense of humor.

“The lyrics, though clear and understandable, seem intentionally vague.” Seriously, it’s brilliant! When looking up the song on SongMeanings, it seems some associate her religious view with how she may be saying people only remember Gob when they are in trouble. I honestly have no idea if she had any intention at all but it still sounds lovely!

That meaning would make sense, but I like not being totally sure what she means. “Gob” ! subliminal Arrested Development tag? love it.

Haha, I did not even notice that horrible typo but hey, if it brought out the AD fan in you, awesome!

Also, I definitely agree with liking the uncertainty.
